Rollins College Graduation Photos | A Golden Hour Graduation Session in Winter Park, Florida

Graduation sessions have become one of my favorite things to photographβ€”not because of the cap and gown, but because of everything they represent.

Years of late nights.
Early mornings.
Sacrifices.
The moments where you questioned if you'd ever make it.
And then suddenly... here you are.

Rollins College has to be one of the most beautiful campuses in Central Florida, making it the perfect place to celebrate that journey.

Between the historic stone architecture, quiet courtyards, towering oak trees, and the peaceful shoreline of Lake Virginia, every corner of campus tells its own story. As the sun began setting over the water, we wandered through some of Rollins' most iconic locations, letting the evening unfold naturally instead of rushing from pose to pose.

That's always my favorite way to photograph graduates.

Rather than creating stiff, traditional portraits, I love giving people room to breatheβ€”to laugh, to reflect, and to actually enjoy the moment they've worked so hard to reach.

More Than a Cap and Gown

One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing her before she put on her doctoral regalia. The simple white dress, bouquet of eucalyptus and baby's breath, and golden light created something that felt almost bridalβ€”a reminder that graduation isn't just an academic milestone, it's a life milestone.

Then came the robe.

Walking beneath the arches of Rollins College, standing in front of Knowles Memorial Chapel, and tossing her cap into the evening sky felt like the perfect ending to years of dedication.

Some of my favorite images, though, weren't the perfectly posed ones.

They were the genuine laughs.
The moments she looked out across the water.
The quiet smile after everything finally felt real.

Those are the photographs people keep forever.

Why Rollins College Is One of My Favorite Graduation Locations

If you're graduating from Rollins College, you're incredibly lucky to have one of the most photogenic campuses in Florida.

Some of my favorite locations include:

  • Knowles Memorial Chapel

  • The lakeside docks overlooking Lake Virginia

  • The historic archways and stone walkways

  • Spanish Mediterranean architecture throughout campus

  • The shaded courtyards and oak-lined paths

  • Golden hour along the waterfront

The campus offers an incredible variety of backdrops without ever needing to leave the property.

What to Wear for Your Graduation Session

I always encourage graduates to bring more than just their cap and gown.

A classic dress, jumpsuit, or suit underneath photographs beautifully and gives your gallery more variety. Bringing a bouquet or something meaningful to your journey adds another layer of storytelling without feeling forced.

Most importantly, plan your session around sunset.

Golden hour transforms the entire Rollins campus into something magical.
